Replacement Tree for the Demo Garden

Posted by on Apr 11, 2015 in Committees & Projects, Newsletters and Bulletins, The Executive Board, The Gardens

The county has ground the stump of the tree that was in the deer resistant plot outside the main gate of the demo garden.  Now the plot owners want to replace the tree with a Rutgers dogwood cultivar, Stellar, and have asked the Board to approve this replacement.  The spot needs a relatively small tree (20 to 30 feet tall) as utility wires pass over the plot. The tree should be planted as soon as possible.

In keeping with the spirit of the bylaws (“The acquisition of any decorative garden accessory or structure, regardless of value, whether purchased or donated, … shall be subject to review and a formal vote by the Executive Board”), I have asked Board members to approve this replacement.  I’m also asking you, the members, to ask if you agree. I encourage you to contact me if you have any concerns.
