Our next Communications Meeting of all Committee Chairs and the Executive Board will be held Virtually via Webex,  Wednesday, October 28 at 7 pm.

Madeline Flahive-DiNardo will be sending out an invitation with a link and instructions on how to join the meeting.

Please  plan to join us. This is an ideal opportunity for all Committee chairs to connect with each other and learn what has been taking place behind the scenes.  Also get important Rutgers updates on how the COVID 19 restrictions continues to affect the Master Gardener program and its future activities.

Candidates sought for the Master Gardeners Executive Board

Seeking Candidates for the Master Gardeners Executive Board

At the end of this year (2020), the terms of Althea Llewellyn, President, John Evangelista, 1st VicePresident; Cecile Coronato, Recording Secretary; and Carol Walczuk, Historian will end.

Therefore, candidates are being sought for:

President (two-year term) 1st Vice President (two-year term) Recording Secretary (two-year term) Historian (two-year term)

It should be noted that Althea Llewellyn, John Evangelista and Cecile Coronato have all agreed to run again for their positions. Carol Walczuk will not run again because this is her 2nd consecutive term as Historian.

If you are a Certified, Active Master Gardener, in good standing, who would like to submit your name or another CAMG’s name for consideration for any of the positions mentioned, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee.

NOTE:  There will be two opportunities for eligible master gardeners to cast a vote. One will be to place their vote by mail. Second, by voting online through our internal website.  No votes will be accepted by phone. Qualifications and responsibilities for these positions are in the Bylaws. Our bylaws can be found under the Forms and FAQS page online at .

Criteria includes:

Any candidate for office must be a Certified Active Master Gardener (CAMG) in good standing. She or He:

  1. Supports the mission of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension and the RMGUC.
  2. Displays, supports and encourages positive attitudes in volunteering.
  3. Attends required RMGUC meetings.
  4. Maintains annual certification requirements (required hours and CEU’s)

The deadline for submitting names (applying for consideration for these positions) is October 30, 2020.

Please note that during the COVID 19 crisis, Rutgers has temporarily suspended the following recertification requirement (the 25 volunteer hours needed to maintain the status as a certified active master gardener- CAMG)
