Annual flowers in the greenhouse are 30% off -$2.00 for a 4 pack or 6 pack, Hanging baskets are $5.00 each

Annual vines and Tomatoes or Peppers in peat pots are $1.50 each. There are 2 nursery shrubs (kerria japonica) and 2 native virginia creeper vines at $5.00 each. Nursery perennials we cannot return are also in the greenhouse, they are $3.00 each.

Our MG donated perennials are on the back tables in our outdoor potting area, and they are $1.00 each (to cover the cost of soil)

Sales are on the honor system, and the money can either be sent to the Treasurer, Teresa Gibbons, or can be given to Joanne and I will get it to Terry.

Member – Pre-Sale ordering Information

We will again make annuals available during the Master Gardener Pre Plant Sale, held Saturday afternoon May 19, from 1-3pm at the Demo Garden. However, we need your help to make it a success. The spring plant sale is profitable when we sell out so we must order carefully. If you are interested in purchasing annuals at the pre-sale please send an email of the type of plant and approximate number (entire flat, a six pack, 4 inch pot) that you plan to purchase. We have the typical assortment of annuals including begonia, ageratum, alyssum, petunia, marigolds, salvia, snapdragons and zinnia. We will be using your requests for rough ordering purposes only.  There will be no holds on the day of the sale. Please send your order requests to ekathmurr@aol.com by Sunday, May 13.

Please note – due to the downy mildew problems expected again this year on Impatiens walleriana, we won’t be offering these plants for sale again this year. Popular replacements that are not affected are New Guinea impatiens, big leaf begonia and coleus. We will have a large selection of all these fine plants available to Master Gardeners and the public.

And please start saving boxes for the Fair and bring them to the Demo Garden the weekend of the Fair. Thanks, Joanne Krueger

August and September is the perfect time to divide your iris, daylilies and hosta. We will be accepting your potted plants in September at the Demo Garden. We will be open two Saturdays this fall for your donations and we can also use help these days digging up perennials out of the garden and potting them up. We will have soil, pots and plant labels if you want to bring your clumps and divide them at the demo garden.  The September newsletter contains a list of plants we accept in the fall. DEMO GARDEN OPEN DURING ANNUAL HARVEST FESTIVAL – WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! – Sunday, September 24, 2017 – 11 am – 5 pm, Rain or Shine

Master Gardener volunteers are needed to staff a table at the entrance to our garden during this event. This is a very easy job – just meet and greet the public, keep track of attendance and give out some brochures on the Master Gardener program. We will also be offering free Children’s Activities – helping the children pot up baby plants to take home and making bird feeders, so your help is needed! We had over 100 children take home a plant last year. Help is also needed to set up and clean up at the end.

Contact Joanne Krueger @joannekru@aol.com or 908-313-2734 if you can volunteer. Thank you for your help keeping our garden beautiful!
