New Volunteer Opportunity – Ash Tree Survey for County Parks

Hello Master Gardeners,

We have a new volunteer program with training, on the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).  The Emerald Ash Borer is an insect that attacks Ash trees.  It has killed  many Ash trees in the mid-west, and we know it is here in New Jersey.  To help the county develop a plan for EAB management, we are training Master Gardeners, 4-H Master Tree Stewards and Environmental Stewards to conduct an Ash tree survey in county parks.  The training will be held on Thursday mornings, 9:30 – noon beginning May 10 for 4  weeks and we will schedule surveying  during the summer.
